Suggested Tour Packing List

Solisti Tour Packing List


Each student is able to bring:
  • 1 suitcase (less than 50 lbs, no more that 62” total around)
  • 1 small personal item (small backpack, perhaps with one change of clothes and a toothbrush, just in case something happens to your luggage and any electronics you might want for the plane)
  • 1 carry on item.  (Violinists and violists, this will be your instrument.)


Required to pack:


Solisti Formal Uniform
  • Men - Tuxedo, (jacket/pants) dress shoes, black socks (several pairs) clean tux shirt, bow tie
  • Women - Solisti Dress, black dress shoes.
  • PORTABLE MUSIC STAND


Suggested clothing:
  • 2 pairs of jeans, 2-3 casual pants, maybe some shorts for the warmer days.
  • Polar fleece pull over or wind breaker or spring coat (Wear it to the airport!)
  • 4-5 shirts (short and long sleeves)
  • One or two “dressy” outfits
  • Sneakers/Comfortable shoes to walk in
  • Lightweight backpack for day trips and to/from performances


Suggested Remedies, toiletries, etc.
  • Tums, Pepto, Imodium, etc. if you’re prone to upset stomachs and whatnot. No doctor’s note needed.
  • Motion sickness? try Dramamine non-drowsy or the motion sickness bracelet
  • Shampoo, toothpaste, mouthwash, DEODORANT, toothbrush etc.
    • If liquids are in your carry-on, they must all be contained in a quart-sized clear bag and less than 3 oz.
    • If you are putting liquids in your checked bag, there is no size restriction.  


Electronics, Documents, Money, Misc.
  • Camera, tablets, books, cards, other things to keep you busy on planes & coach
  • Visa /Mastercard debit or cash travel card (AAA), Euros.  (For Debit/Credit, please contact your bank to let them know your travel plans.  
    • *See itinerary for lunch on your own/etc. to budget appropriately.
    • While it is possible to exchange US Dollars for Euros while in Europe,  it is recommended you do it here.  You can do this at AAA, and at some banks.  (Certain banks take a few days, so keep that in mind.)
  • Passport  (WILL BE COLLECTED)
  • Voltage converter and European plug for anything electronic
    • Recommended that you also bring a small power strip for your room
    • If you’re worried about your phone/tablet dying mid-day, a portable charger may be handy


Please note:

  • Leave packing room for any souvenirs you purchase in Europe
  • Dirty clothes take up more room - plan ahead
  • You will experience warm days with cool/cold nights.
  • Dress in loose, comfortable clothing for both plane rides. Drink plenty of water.
  • The day we leave, you will be in those clothes for 18-24 hours.  Dress in layers.
